In a post to Twitter, Apple has announced that it is launching an editorial fellowship for its Apple News service in partnership with the National Association of Black Journalists. The fellowship, as Apple explains, will "give early-career journalists the opportunity to work at the forefront of news and technology."

According to the application, those who are part of the fellowship will get the opportunity to work with the Apple News editorial team as well as editors from publishers on the company's platform.
Apple News provides millions of users with trusted journalism from leading news organizations around the globe. The opportunity to work on the Apple News editorial team — and to collaborate with editors from Apple News's publisher partners — is a chance to gain valuable skills and insight from a newsroom that is revolutionizing how consumers access world-class journalism.
In addition to getting weekly one-on-one meetings with a manager and mentor, recipients will also get the chance to dive into an independent project that gets presented to the entire Apple News editorial team.
The program is designed to give exposure to each of the key editorial areas (e.g.,Top Stories, Spotlight, Audio, etc.). After three months' rotation, the selected candidate and mentors from Apple News will select a single focus area for the remainder of the program. They will also spearhead at least one independent project, with support from the team leader and their manager, which they will be invited to present to the full Apple News editorial team.
Apple News is the company's news aggregation platform. In addition to offering the app for free to users, the company also offers Apple News+, its premium service that gives subscribers access to hundreds of magazines and a handful of newspapers. That service is also available in the Premier tier of Apple One, Apple's subscription bundle service.
