What you need to know

  • Apple partner Foxconn has reported a bumper April.
  • Foxconn saw revenues of almost $18 billion this past month.

iPhone 12 and PS5 shipments were the leading reasons, sources say.

Apple's manufacturing partner Foxconn has reported its best April yet with revenues of $17.62 billion. Industry sources say that strong iPhone 12 shipment numbers have been one of the reasons for the bumper numbers.

According to a DigiTimes report, Foxconn has iPhone 12 and PS5 to thank for producing the best April yet with growth of 13.44% on the month and 31.39% on the year.

The revenue growth was mainly attributable to booming shipments for the iPhone 12 series and the PlayStation 5 game console, according to industry sources.

Foxconn's outlook has long been strongly tied to Apple's iPhone sales and today's news comes after Apple shared its Q2 2021 earnings last month. Apple CEO Tim Cook cited iPhone 12 as a key performer at the time.

Mac and services delivered all-time record results, and we set new March quarter records for iPhone and wearables, home, and accessories. To provide some color on our results, let's turn to our product categories. We saw very strong performance for iPhone, which grew 66% year over year, driven by the strong popularity of the iPhone 12 family.

Apple's iPhone 12 is the best iPhone for most people right now and it's easy to see why it is proving popular. Apple will announce its new iPhone 13 lineup this September which will in all likelihood sell just as well, if not better.
