It looks like web-based Instagram posting is coming - TechnW3
What you need to know
- Instagram appears to be testing a web-based posting feature.
- Users can only post to Instagram from within its mobile apps right now.
It looks like Instagram is testing a new way for users to post photos of their food.
Instagram appears to be testing a new feature that will allow users to post to the social network from their web browser for the first time. Currently, the only way to post to Instagram is to use one of its mobile apps. And there still isn't an iPad app, either.
The move to offer web-based uploading is one that will be welcomed by those who post images taken with a high-end camera rather than smartphones as was originally intended when Instagram launched way back when.
Instagram's testing was spotted by developer and leaker Alessandro Paluzzi and reported by MacRumors.

Based on what Paluzzi shared it does look like users will still be able to apply the filters we're all so used to, while video will also be something that can be uploaded. This appears to essentially be the Instagram uploading experience people are used to, but via web browser with drag and drop enabled.
There's no telling when any of this will go live or, indeed, if it ever will. The lack of an iPad app should tell everyone how quickly Instagram does these things.
Making it easier to post images from cameras could be a big deal and now would be a good time to treat yourself to one of the best digital cameras around. You know, just to get ready.
