Apple is rolling out its iPad bundle to students in a new university.
Apple is teaming up with California State University to offer an iPad bundle to its students.
In an announcement on the California State University website, the university announced that, as part of its new CSUCCESS (California State University Connectivity Contributing to Equity and Student Success) program, all first-year and new transfer students who register to participate in the initiative will receive an iPad Air, Apple Pencil, and Smart Keyboard Folio.
CSU Chancellor Joseph I. Castro said that the initiative will equip all students with a reliable piece of technology that will help support their time in college as well as prepare them for their future careers.
"CSUCCESS will assure that students have immediate access to innovative, new mobile tools they need to support their learning, particularly when faced with the lingering effects of the pandemic ... The new initiative will establish a foundation for their achievement and has the potential to play a key role in eliminating stubborn equity gaps among our talented and diverse students. In addition to truly addressing equity and access, we see iPad Air as a powerful tool to prepare our students for their future careers.
I am convinced that true and consistent student success depends on having a modern, and more importantly, reliable, computing device in our students' possession beginning on day one and continuing throughout their college experience ... We aspire to have additional phases of the initiative that will expand access in the future to more new and current students at other CSU campuses."
Susan Prescott, Apple's Vice President of Education and Enterprise Marketing, said that the iPad Air, paired with all of the education apps available in the App Store, is a key combination to support students.
"At Apple, we believe that education is a powerful force for equity and opportunity, and that technology can empower all students to achieve their goals ... We're thrilled that iPad Air and the incredible education apps in the App Store will be central to the experience at CSU campuses across California, and will play a part in the learning and career development of students from Humboldt to San Marcos."
Apple had announced a similar partnership with Virginia Union University and its 'Smart Campus' back in June.
