Apple trying to expand public beta testers of iOS 15 before fall release - TechnW3
What you need to know
- Apple is emailing those enrolled in the Beta Software Program about testing iOS 15, macOS Monterey, and more.
- The company is expected to start releasing its new software updates in September.
Apple wants you to be a public beta tester.
Apple wants to get as much feedback as possible on its upcoming software releases and is reaching out to users for help.
In an email spotted by 9to5Mac, Apple is encouraging users who are enrolled in the Beta Software Program to try out the latest public beta of iOS 15, iPadOS 15, macOS Monterey, tvOS 15, or watchOS 8.
"The iOS 15, iPadOS 15, macOS Monterey, tvOS 15, and watchOS 8 public betas are now available. As a member of the Apple Beta Software Program, you can help shape Apple software by test-driving pre-release versions and letting us know what you think."
The email was only sent to users already enrolled in the Beta Software Program. If you're interested in checking out Apple's upcoming software releases, you can sign up on the Apple Beta Software Program website. The company is currently on the third public beta of most of the software releases so they are now, of course, more stable than the first release.
While it is always exciting to check out the latest and greatest software from Apple, it's always best to only install it on a backup device. You can run it on your main device, but you always run the risk of some bugs and performance issues as it is a beta.
Apple is expected to release iOS 15, iPadOS 15, macOS Monterey, watchOS 8, and tvOS 15 this fall along with a slew of new devices like the iPhone 13, Apple Watch Series 7, and 3rd generation AirPods.
