The new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro seem to be closer than ever.

As reported by DigiTimes Apple has begun mass production of its new Pro laptops with monthly shipments expected to be in the range of 600,000 to 800,000 units per month.

Apple has started volume production for new MacBook Pro, with monthly shipments of the notebooks expected to arrive at 600,000-800,000 units during the period from August to November, according to sources from the upstream supply chain.

Apple has been rumored to be working on a complete redesign to the MacBook Pro ever since the company announced its own Apple silicon processors. While the launch date of such a product has been long-rumored, it appears that the company may release its new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros this fall.

Today's report lines up with earlier reporting from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, who said that the laptops were originally planned for an earlier release but that mini-LED display production issues delayed the release of the new laptops. It also lines up with predictions from supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who said that mass production of the new MacBook Pro models would begin in the third quarter of 2021.

The new MacBook Pro is expected to feature the next generation of Apple silicon processors, a mini-LED display, the return of many ports like HDMI and USB-A, and the removal of the Touch Bar.

Apple is also expected to announce the iPhone 13 lineup, Apple Watch Series 7, and 3rd generation AirPods this fall.
