• The game is set to shut down on January 31, 2021.
• The game will also be removed from app stores on December 6, 2021.

Fans of Harry Potter: Wizards Unite will have to find another place to practice witchcraft and wizardry, as the game is set to shut down. This mobile game was developed by Niantic, the development team behind the mobile gaming juggernaut that is Pokémon GO.

Unfortunately, Harry Potter: Wizards Unite failed to put a charming spell on general audiences in the same way that Pokémon GO did. However, the game does intend to go out with a bang. These gameplay changes take place as of November 2, 2021:

• All Daily Assignments rewards will increase
• All Potion brew times will reduce by 50% with Master Notes
• A removal of the daily cap on sending and opening Gifts
• Players can earn 3x XP from Barrufio's Brain Elixir potion
• More frequent appearances of 1920s Portkey Portmanteaus and double the Fragment rewards
• More frequent appearances of Spell Energy and Ingredients on the map

Harry Potter: Wizards Unite will be unavailable for re-download on mobile app stores on December 6, 2021, and will be completely shut down on January 31, 2022. Players won't be able to make in-app purchases as of December 6, 2021 as well.
