This Pokéfan turned their Apple Watch into a Pokétch! - TechnW3
If you're tech savvy, you can transform your Apple Watch too!
What you need to know
- Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are remakes of the original Diamond and Pearl games on the Nintendo 3DS.
- The games feature a special gadget called the Pokétch, which housed apps like a watch and calculator.
- Idrees Hassan showcased themselves transforming their Apple Watch into a Pokétch on Reddit and YouTube.
Some Pokémon fans are more than ready to play Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, just like Idrees Hassan on Reddit. In a post on Reddit, they showcased their Apple Watch decked out in a custom program to make it resemble the Pokétch that first make its appearance in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl.
To celebrate BDSP, I made a real life (and open-source) Poketch on my Apple Watch! from pokemon
The Pokétch resembled a rudimentary LCD watch and sported a few apps, such as a clock, a calculator, map, step counter, stopwatch, coin flipper, and much more. In the video, Hassan shows off various applications inspired by the original Pokétch as they swipe across their Apple Watch screen.
While we're doubtful that Apple will be selling their own Pokétch anytime soon, Hassan does provide a video showing us how they managed to transform their own Apple Watch.
Fans of the original Diamond and Pearl may want to try their hand at this transformation, but do so at your own risk. We can't wait to see the upgraded Pokétch when Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl release on the Nintendo Switch family of systems this Friday.
