Review: totallee Thin Hybrid MagSafe iPhone case is ultra-thin protection - TechnW3
Get protection without a lot of bulk.
When you think of totallee, you probably think of the ultra-thin, barely-there totallee Thin iPhone case. That case is a mere .02 inches thick, which is hardly thicker than a sticker. However, the totallee Thin Hybrid MagSafe iPhone case is more of a traditional case. The hard plastic back and flexible bumper offer the protection you need without adding too much bulk to your iPhone 13 series handset. It's a great thin case for the iPhone 13 lineup — and it's MagSafe compatible!

totallee Thin Hybrid MagSafe iPhone case: Price and availability
The totallee Thin Hybrid MagSafe iPhone case can be purchased for the iPhone 13 mini, 13, 13 Pro, or 13 Pro Max on Amazon or on totallee's website. Currently, the only color option is Clear + Black (clear back, black around the edges and camera module). All models are $39 on both websites.
totallee Thin Hybrid MagSafe iPhone case: What's good
I'm always on the lookout for relatively thin cases that still provide my iPhone some decent protection. Bulkier, heavy-duty cases are great for all kinds of adventures. But for my everyday mostly desk-job life, they are overkill. I really only need about waist-high drop protection, since that's where I'm likely to drop it from. Not off of a cliff.
The regular totallee Thin iPhone case is probably too thin for most folks, as it barely provides any drop protection. It's really more for scratch protection, for people who want that caseless look and feel. The newer "Hybrid" cases are really traditional protective cases, certainly thicker than the original "Thin" case but still thinner than most cases. Now, totallee offers a MagSafe option on the Hybrid case, which I love. I use an Apple MagSafe charger as well as other great MagSafe accessories, so it's great to have the option to use them with this case.
Take a step up from "barely there" with this definitely there (but still thin) case
The back of the case is hard, clear plastic so you can see the color of your iPhone and the Apple logo through it. The MagSafe magnet ring is also clearly visible. The edges of the case are a firm but flexible black TPU. I would say the edges add a little bit of grip but are still smooth for ease slipping in and out of pockets. The case's lip extends well over the surface of the iPhone screen and the camera lenses, so you won't damage them when you set the phone down. It doesn't get in the way of my screen protector.
The button covers protecting the Sleep/Wake and volume buttons are effective, clicky, and clearly marked. Generous cutouts ensure the camera module, mute switch, Lightning port, and speaker holes are totally unobstructed. Like totallee's other cases, there is no branding on the case.
totallee Thin Hybrid MagSafe iPhone case: What's not good
I don't have any major complaints about this case. It's not the most exciting-looking, and I'd actually prefer it to be all clear rather than have the black edges. But that's down to personal taste. The price is also fairly high for a simple case like this.
totallee Thin Hybrid MagSafe iPhone case: Competition
Another thin but protective case with MagSafe compatibility that I love is the stylish OtterBox Figura case with MagSafe. It's available for both the iPhone 12 series and iPhone 13 series handsets. The artsy, colorful prints are a lot of fun and the price point is similar to the totallee Thin Hybrid MagSafe iPhone case.
If you're looking for more of a budget option, the simple ESR Hybrid Magnetic case is one of my favorite thin cases for iPhone 13 Pro and the entire iPhone 13 lineup. The clear TPU case offers protection without a lot of bulk. The look is pretty basic but you could always add personality with decals.
totallee Thin Hybrid MagSafe iPhone case: Should you buy it?
You should buy this if ...
- You want some decent drop protection
- You want a thin, non-bulky case
- You want MagSafe capability
You shouldn't buy this if...
- You have an iPhone 12 or older
- You want different look and color options
- You want a budget case
Looking for a thin case that still offers drop protection? Want to use a MagSafe charger and other MagSafe accessories? If you have an iPhone 13, 13 mini, 13 Pro, or Pro Max, and you have the budget, consider the totallee Thin Hybrid MagSafe iPhone case.
The totallee Thin Hybrid MagSafe iPhone case is a well-made, simple, MagSafe-compatible case for the iPhone 13 lineup. While it's thicker than totallee's signature case, it's still quite thin. But it offers the protection you expect from a standard case. It's not cheap and it doesn't come in multiple color options, but it does the job without adding a lot of bulk to your iPhone. The case has no branding on it, so all you see is your iPhone and its Apple logo.
