What you need to know

  • Apple has closed seven of its stores in the last two days.
  • The stores have been temporarily closed due to COVID-19 outbreaks.

The COVID-19 surge is hitting Apple Stores much faster now.

Apple has shut down a lot more Apple Stores due to the COVID-19 surge.

As reported by Bloomberg, the company has temporarily closed at least seven of its retail stores in the United States and Canada. The company usually closes a store if an outbreak has been recognized with its retail staff.

Below are the list of Apple Stores that have closed due to a COVID-19 outbreak:

  • Dadeland in Miami
  • The Gardens Mall in Palm Beach
  • Lenox Square in Atlanta
  • Highland Village in Houston
  • Summit Mall in Ohio
  • Pheasant Lane in New Hampshire
  • Sainte-Catherine in Montreal

Apple made its usual statement to Bloomberg, citing their "comprehensive approach for our teams" to keep employees and customers safe.

"We regularly monitor conditions, and we will adjust our health measures to support the well-being of customers and employees. We remain committed to a comprehensive approach for our teams that combines regular testing with daily health checks, employee and customer masking, deep cleaning and paid sick leave."

Apple has been struggling to keep its retail stores open during the latest COVID-19 surge. At the beginning of the month, it temporarily closed one of its stores in Texas due to the same issue.

As a way to help customers near an Apple Store on the last few days before Christmas, the company is now offering free two hour delivery on some products. The shipping method usually costs customers $9 per order, so this is a nice last minute offer from the company as it struggles to keep its stores open.
