Better than dating

Valentine's Day is not everyone's favorite holiday, especially if you're a lonely heart on this day or if you've had a spat with your significant other. If you're looking for a way to forget the day even exists, we know the perfect games to play to forget all about it.

The game I recommend most is Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Finally after having a stale formula for 25 years, Game Freak changed things up so you can actually capture Pokémon directly in the overworld. Explore various maps by riding with large Pokémon and see if you can catch every creature you see.

If Pokémon isn't to your tastes, then you really ought to check out Luigi's Mansion 3. It's hilarious and thoroughly enjoyable, so it's sure to distract you from your dating woes. Plus, if you happen to have a friend over, you can play the main storyline in co-op. Or if you have a singles awareness party, you can all play one of the multiplayer games.

If you're looking for something else, you should seriously consider The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. I've put well over 100 hours into this game, and I'm still discovering new things that I can do. If nothing else, you can take in the beauty of the impressive open world of Hyrule. You'll get so sucked into it that you'll forget all about dating. And if things just really aren't going well for you right now, you can light everything in Hyrule on fire to vent your frustrations.
